EL TEJAR is an agricultural and livestock company originally founded as an association of producers. It later progressed into a Corporate Collaboration Association, and finds its ultimate structure in the form of today’s Corporation. The objective was always that what is known today as “EL TEJAR” were a conscious and measured conclusion of our founders. It was always necessary, of course, to prove the effectiveness of the proposed partnership since there was to be a merging of differing viewpoints, backgrounds, and an existing friendship, not to mention the undertaking of a business venture that included the joint assumption of risks.

From our very beginnings, we have sought to create a company whose focus is the person, where there is always an opportunity for growth and a constant sense of transcendence. Under these principles, various families and capital investors have joined us along the years.

A BIT OF HISTORY

This venture began in the Salado River Basin (Buenos Aires Province, Argentina) in 1987. Today, EL TEJAR operates in vast areas of what is known as Argentina’s “Wet Pampa” as well as its Northeast region, in addition to various regions in Uruguay, Mato Grosso - Brazil, Bolivia and more recently Paraguay.

The company’s first activity was livestock farming and included everything from the raising of our own cattle to the exportation of its cuts with our brand name. The early 90’s saw the beginning of the company’s grain production business. This business experienced such a staggering growth that today it boasts as the company’s main activity.

Until 2006, EL TEJAR exclusively developed its activities by renting rural properties to third-parties. However, strong capital intake since then has allowed us to begin to purchase rural properties, strongly enhancing our growth capacity.

This way, our dream of luring international investors into the region and thus strongly widening the venture’s projection was achieved.
